Assessment could be improved as well as differentiation. The programme is current, fun and up to date and covers our curriculum and skills progression across school.

How well does it match the curriculum?

Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected

This matches the year groups curriculum for computing. It is progressive across the school and has a good and important focus on online safety. This is current and up to date. It also has opportunities for cross curricular learning.

How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?

Reasonably: Essentially there’s enough for most pupils but there isn’t enough support, extension or challengeIt is progressive on however far a child gets. The instructions can be read out to the child on the ipad/computer and this can be repeated.

Differentiated activities per lesson needed. .

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so

The children love it. The games are fun and have a clear outcome. They enjoy using Purple Mash in free time rather than just computing.

How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?

Badly: There isn’t any / enough formative assessment or what there is, isn’t very useful

From the training I have had, the formative assessment is very limited and could be improved.

How well does it support planning?

Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes

The plans and resources are very useful. It is easy to pick up and access. It is also handy for cover staff to use.

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources

It can be used at home but this is not a feature we have access to in my school.

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen

I don't have a great deal of knowledge on the cost of this programme but it saves a lot of planning time for staff and has improved staff wellbeing.

Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 9/11
