Review: This is the site for International Developmental Educational Advisory Services and in particular, Alan Peat. The site is advertising his services, but it is also doing more. There are a range of essays that are of interest to teachers including ones titled 'Helping pupils to develop more effective characters in their story writing' and 'Developing story writing in the Infant classroom'. The articles are worth reading, but they are essays and so if you are looking for lessons plans or immediately useable resources, you may be disappointed. This is a good site for primary teachers.

CLPE has a national and international reputation for its work in the fields of language, literacy and assessment. CLPE runs training courses and has an outstanding reference collection of children’s literature, and books for teachers. The collection includes picture books, fiction, poetry, traditional stories, plays, big books, books in community languages, alphabet and counting books, audiotapes and videos.

Though this is an American site, the lesson plans offered can be adapted for use by UK teachers.

The overall site can be used to generate ideas for creative activities and creative writing. On the down side, the pages take a long time to download.
