Review: If you want a handout for students, this might be the site for you. Topics covered include: paragraphs; editing and proof-reading; using metaphors in creative writing; and, planning. Each page is clearly written with plenty of white space and examples. However, why you would use these pages is a little difficult to answer: Do you just present students with pages of information and expect them to learn by reading them? They might be useful for supplying ideas or examples for teachers, but I can't see them being used by anyone skilled in whole class teaching.
Review: Academy Curricular Exchange web site catering to Language Arts Lessons for American Elementary (K-5)- Primary school. The Curriculum Exchange is an area where teachers can find a variety of lesson plans. The original group of 700 lesson plans came from the Columbia Education Center's Summer Workshops. These lessons were done by a consortium of teachers from 14 states dedicated to improving the quality of education in the rural, western, United States, particularly the quality of math and science education. This section of the site offers numerous links to resources for learning English. It includes everything from using paragraphs to parts of speech.
