Learn about the rich legacy of maritime heritage at the Sunken History Exhibition which is housed in the Maritime Heritage Centre, Fort Victoria on the Isle of Wight, one mile west of Yarmouth. The exhibiton brings to life ships claimed by the treacherous coast of the Island, the work of maritime archaeologists and the Lost Land of the Solent. The Sunken History Exhibition has been evolving in the hands of the Trust to become an educational hub for the community, schools and dive groups. Within the Exhibition, the work of the Trust is displayed to help educate and inform the public of the history of the area and the importance of conserving and recording our maritime archaeological heritage. A Education Pack - Secrets of the Solent - is now available free of charge for schools, community groups and other interested parties.

The Science Museum in London is a fantastic resources for all ages. Its interactive areas such as 'Launch Pad', 'Pattern Pod' and 'Energy - Fuelling the Future' provide opportunities for exciting hands-on exploration of science. Its object-rich galleries provide great contexts for Science, History and Citizenship in particular. In addition there are shows, drama characters, films in the Museum's own IMAX Cinema, and gallery tours, all of which can be combined for an inspirational school visit. Downloadable gallery activity sheets are available and the website has some excellent resources that can be used in the classroom. If you are too far away to visits, the Museum's outreach team can bring brilliant shows and workshops to your school. Step back in history at one of Europe's most important Prehistoric Sites. Education Programmes available for Key stage 1 & 2. Inludes Welcom to Flag Fen Museum Material of Past Times in the Iron Age Roundhouse, children get to make a pendant. Visit the Bronze Age roundhouses to see how we would have lived over 3000 years ago. Then to the Preservation Hall to see some of the timber on display exacatly as the archaeologist found them, with brief explination. The a final question and answer session in the Iron Age Roundhouse with a fire burning and optional storytelling.
