iTutorMaths Pass Your GCSE Ongoing Support courseLike many schools we are often asked for the names of Mathematics tutors for our students and other than word of mouth, we don’t have access to information on tutors in our local area so I was very interested in the idea of iTutorMaths as a concept. I must also add that I am also very positive about the use of technology in school but not just for the sake of using it so I expect any resource I use to need to use the technology it does rather than it be there for the sake of it. ... Qwizdom in the Mathematics ClassroomQwizdom is an Audience Response System that poses a series of questions that are projected and then allows pupils to use radio frequency handheld remotes to input their answer. After each question it’s possible to show each pupil individually if they were correct or not via an LCD display on the remote. You can instantly view a graph of the results on screen to show (anonymously) what responses the whole class gave. The software has built in games that can be used to give the lesson a m... Cabri 3DCabri 3D v2 is an exciting new development which has similar functionality to Cabri Geometry II plus, but operates in the world of three dimensions. It is both difficult and tedious to demonstrate and reproduce geometrical constructs using pen and paper in 2D but almost impossible in 3D. This program allows the student to get a real feel for what is going on without even touching a multi-link cube! With the ability to bring a difficult topic to life and develop reasoning skills along the way, it... More ... |
