La Jolie Ronde – French Years 3 and 4 is a comprehensive scheme of work for teaching French. It is a scheme which contains lesson notes, and CD-ROMs containing teaching resources, sound files for language support, songs and poems and interactive whiteboard resources. It is a two-year scheme of work which has been written in accordance with the Key Stage 2 framework for MFL. It is aimed specifically at children in Years 3 and 4 and the lessons are divided into four 15-minute sessions intended to give the teacher maximum flexibility.
There are alternative CDs to use with an interactive whiteboard. For those schools that have a Smartboard, we provided a CD that requires Smart Notebook version 9.5 or later and Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 or later. For schools with different interactive whiteboards we offer a CD using Flash technology. The content of the schemes of work relates directly to the Key Stage 2 framework and contains all of the resources needed to deliver the series of lessons. The file is set out very clearly and is straight-forward to use and understand. When using the product in a classroom, it is very easy to plan with, and the children were very engaged with some of the simple, yet enjoyable, activities which could be used on the interactive whiteboard.
