Schoolzone's Recruitment Services
Using Schoolzone’s unique access to teacher communities to meet specific recruitment and profiling specifications
Background
All research projects depend upon recruiting research participants, whether these are based on quotas or on specific profiling criteria – or both. From time to time, Schoolzone takes on projects with particularly challenging recruitment specifications. Two projects with very different profiling requirements are highlighted here:
Client 1
A market-leading curriculum publisher approached Schoolzone with a request to recruit 21 local secondary school teachers to attend a discussion forum which was to be hosted at their offices. The particular challenges associated with this request were:
- Specific subject profiling criteria were stipulated – three teachers were required from seven different subject areas
- The session was scheduled to take place on the second-last day of term
- Schoolzone was given three days turnaround to carry out the recruitment.
Outcome
The full quota was met. The teachers were extremely positive about the event, and were eager to remain involved in the projects under discussion. This resulted in several invitations for the publisher to trial their resources in local schools.
Client 2
A national agency responsible for the training and development of the school workforce had developed CPD guidelines intended for their members. Prior to publishing these, they wanted to obtain in-depth feedback from teachers, SMT members and authorities, to ensure that the guidelines were appropriate for the target audience. The challenges associated with this project were associated with the stipulated quotas and profiling criteria. The reviewer panel needed to comprise:
- 60 NQTs in their second year of teaching, with a 50/50 primary/ secondary split
- 40 NQTs in their third year of teaching, with a 50/50 primary/ secondary split
- 25 CPD leaders
- 25 PM leaders
- 25 school induction leaders
- 25 local authority CPD leaders
The turnaround time for recruiting the reviewers was 2 weeks. Outcome
Schoolzone recruited 200 teachers from the above categories, of whom 197 completed the review. The feedback led to some important revisions to the documentation, which has now been disseminated amongst their members.
Schoolzone were invaluable in our recent market research campaign - successfully managing to recruit a large number of profiled teachers in just 3 days!
