Review: This worksheet is designed to reinforce knowledge of factors andto enable pupils toidentify factors of numbers. There are several large spiders on this sheet. In the middle of each is a number. Pupils have to identify the factors of that particular number and write them on their legs. I have used this activity successfully before in the classroom. Pupils could then be encouraged to make up their own and think about which numbers have the most factors. This is a useful worksheet from the Primary Resources website which offers a wide range of excellent free materials for Primary teachers.

There is also a number line which clearly demonstates the "counting on" method of addition. Children are also encouraged to add nearest multiples of 10 and adjust the calculation accordingly. There are several questions on this worksheet and pupils are asked not only to record the answers but to draw a number line to show what strategy they used to find the answer.

scribbletable -

Mainly suitable for:
Well suited for use in UK schools KS1, KS2
Review: This interactive page displays a 100 square that can be ‘scribbled upon’ by using the left hand mouse button. It would probably work well on an interactive whiteboard using a pen or finger. This way all children could see what was happening or join in with a whole class activity. However, it could also be used on computers with children printing out their work as a record for assessment or discussion. The numbered grid could be used in a variety of ways by teachers or children. For example children could put a line through each number that was even or use it to count in fives or tens. They could put a mark across all the prime numbers or all the multiples of ten etc. Mistakes or completed tasks can be removed by pressing the clear button. Simple but useful.
