The worksheets vary in length and cover different areas of problem solving including time, mean and median, riddles, perimeter and area, percentages and fractions. There is a separate answer sheet for each worksheet, which makes marking very easy. The worksheets are mainly aimed at years 4 and 5 but could be used to challenge younger or older children.

This website is simple and straightforward but could be useful nevertheelss.

Many of these are spatial puzzles which require pupils to move shapes or objects around the screen. These would fit well into a daily numeracy lesson perhaps as a mental maths warm up or maybe as part of a plenary session. These puzzles are well worth a look. A recommended website!

I particularly like the way that the problem is explained logically, pictorially and then also modelled as a spreadsheet. There is a sample applet which models how to solve the problem with smaller numbers.
