Review: A Data handling game by BBC that has three levels. This is an excellent activity that allows the user to create a frequency table then graph pertaining to a simple scenario. The use of tally marks and totals is taught with the user selecting the correct graph that represents the data supplied in a table. A quick activity tht would be excellent for use with an interactive board to whole class.

Review: The web page offers a collection of quick ideas and activities for teaching Maths, in this case - numbers and place values. The ideas are not very exciting or well presented and I do not feel inspired to use these 3 ideas. However, the page is part of a larger site offering help with generating ideas for teaching various primary subjects including English, Maths, Science and I.C.T. among others. The homepage for the Maths section at http://www.primaryresources.co.uk/maths/maths.htm is quite useful with links to a whole range of resources on topics such as basic operations, word problems, use of money, fractions, decimals and percentages, data handling, measures and others. Some of these materials are in pdf format and ready to be printed for referral or use. There are also Maths worksheet generators. I will certainly refer to this web site when planning my Maths lessons.
