Consultancy opportunity – earn £100 for under an hour’s work, and top up your school’s budget. Deadline: 21/09/2010
Are you an assistant head, deputy head or head teacher working in a state secondary school in the UK? Do you manage or have a say in your school's ICT strategy? We are running a research project which examines the impact of changes in government funding, policy and initiatives on secondary schools' ICT infrastructure, current use of ICT to support teaching and learning, and how the changes affect planning, provision and investment in the short and medium term. We are particularly interested in hearing from schools which were in line to receive BSF funding which has now been stopped or significantly reduced. If you are involved in decisions relating to the above, and are selected to take part in this project, you (personally) will earn £100 for completing a short online feedback form (which should take no longer than 10 minutes) and for taking part in a telephone interview lasting no longer than 30 minutes at a time that you have selected. The project is scheduled to run from the 13th September to the 24th September 2010, and interview times will be arranged at a time that is convenient for you.

Consultancy opportunities

We offer excellent commercial rates of pay for freelance and consultancy work: please register an interest (no commitment) by checking the appropriate box at the bottom of the form or call Alice on 01242 262906 for more details.  You'll also need to register (free) to access some areas of the site. Note: these offers are generally only open to UK based people.

Focus groups

Focus groups are group discussions with 6 - 10 participants, run by a Schoolzone moderator. We pay attendees £50 - £75 each to participate in the discussion and we provide refreshments too! Groups run for 2 hours after school (usually starting at 4:30) and are held at a prominent local venue or are held online via an online chatroom.

Focus groups are a great opportunity to get your voice heard and meet other colleagues in your local area. We run groups all across the UK and on a variety of topics. For example a group may review a publisher's advertising material, provide feedback on new product development or discuss the implication of new initiatives that are affecting UK education.

Surveys

For some of our surveys, targeting very specific types of teacher, we sometimes receive fewer than 100 responses, and we STILL give away the prize draws, which may be worth up to £1000. When we notify prize winners, we give them 10 days to claim their prize; if they don’t, we re-run the draw.

You don’t even need to complete a survey to be eligible to win up to £1000. We have a ‘send to a friend’ feature in our online surveys, which means you can forward any one of our surveys to a colleague or friend who works in the appropriate subject area, and for every valid entry submitted by one of your referees, you will be entered into the prize draw.
